This policy is provided as general information about our privacy practices. It is not legal advice. If you have a privacy concern, contact us using the details at the end of this page.
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to Quick Lock Pro (“we”, “us”, “our”), a mobile locksmith service operating in Sydney, New South Wales, and to the website at quicklockpro.com.au and the services provided through it.
What personal information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide locksmith services and to respond to enquiries. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Contact details โ your name, phone number and email address.
- Service address details โ the address or location where locksmith work is required, and any access information you give us such as building entry or parking instructions.
- Job information โ a description of the lock problem, the property type, and details of the work carried out.
- Verification information โ where a lockout is involved, information used to establish that you own, occupy or are authorised to access the property. We sight this information to confirm your entitlement to access, and we do not retain copies of identity documents unless we are required to.
- Communications โ the content of enquiries you send us by phone, email or through a form on this website.
- Website usage information โ technical information collected automatically when you browse the site, described under “Cookies and website analytics” below.
We do not seek sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act, and we ask that you do not send it to us unless it is genuinely relevant to a job.
How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you wherever practicable โ when you call us, email us, or complete an enquiry form on this website. In some cases we may receive your details from a third party who arranges work on your behalf, such as a property manager, landlord, strata manager, building manager, employer or insurer.
Why we collect and use personal information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide quotes
- dispatch a technician to the correct location and give you an arrival estimate
- carry out and complete the locksmith work requested
- verify that a person requesting access to a property is entitled to it
- issue invoices and process payment
- keep records of work performed, including for warranty, dispute and safety purposes
- meet our legal, insurance and regulatory obligations
- improve our services and the operation of this website
If we cannot collect the information we need, we may be unable to provide the service you have asked for โ for example, we cannot dispatch a technician without a service address.
Direct marketing
We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell or rent contact lists. If we ever send you service-related or promotional communications, each message will include a simple way to opt out, and you can also opt out at any time by contacting us using the details below.
When we disclose personal information
We may disclose personal information to:
- the technician attending your job, so they can locate you and complete the work
- service providers who support our operations, such as payment processors, telephony providers, email and hosting providers and IT support, and only for that purpose
- a landlord, property manager, strata manager or building manager where they arranged the work or where their authorisation is required for it
- our insurers or professional advisers where reasonably necessary
- law enforcement or another authority where we are required or authorised by law to do so
We do not disclose personal information to overseas recipients as a normal part of providing locksmith services. Some of the software and hosting providers we rely on may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How we hold and protect personal information
Personal information may be held in electronic form in our business systems and, occasionally, in physical form such as job records. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include restricting access to information to people who need it to do their job, using access controls on our systems, and using reputable service providers.
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data breaches
If we become aware of unauthorised access to, or disclosure or loss of, personal information that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This includes notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the scheme requires it.
How long we keep personal information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it by law โ for example, records relating to work performed, invoices and tax records. When information is no longer required and we are not required to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period.
We may need to verify your identity before providing access. If we refuse a request for access or correction, we will explain why in writing, except where it would be unreasonable to do so.
Making a privacy complaint
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below and set out the details of your concern. We will investigate and respond to you in writing.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the independent national privacy regulator, at oaic.gov.au.
